My Venture Diary — Girls, Don’t Ignore Your Health
[EP14] A hair-raising week — I almost ended up in the ER.

If you’ve been following my journey, you might remember that a few weeks ago, I drew “the worst fortune” at one of the temples I visit regularly. The poem on the lot warned me to slow down and be more cautious. It also advised me to “cultivate the mind and body” (修生養性), which, in Chinese, not only refers to spiritual growth but also emphasizes taking care of physical health.
I’ve been fortunate to have relatively few health issues, and I try to maintain a regular routine because I know health is the foundation of everything. However, I’ve been dealing with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) for years. Unfortunately, there’s no real cure that addresses the root cause, and despite checking both traditional Chinese and Western medicine, nothing has significantly changed my condition.
I’ve learned to live with it, but due to my irregular periods, it’s difficult to tell when things are within a normal range or when something is wrong. Long story short — I waited too long for a check-up this time and didn’t realize there was a risk of internal bleeding after treatment.
This condition isn’t limited to PCOS patients — it can happen to anyone! That’s why I want to share my experience with all the women out there.
