[EP9] Planning my way through the chaos.
Being a project manager for over four years, I’d say I’m pretty used to planning and getting things done. I’ve written one article about what makes a good PM in terms of pushing the team forward. However, another important aspect of being a good PM is experience.
Most junior PMs get judged harshly or face setbacks, not because their interpersonal skills are lacking, but because they don’t have enough experience to predict what might happen, what will happen next, and what needs to be done to minimize risks.
For example, at my previous company, if a PM didn’t know how plastic injection works or how long it takes for the supplier to make parts, and failed to allocate enough time for production and delivery, the trial run schedule would inevitably be delayed.
