What happened?

Three months ago, I quit my job.

Working at a typical Asian manufacturer, I felt like I had no life. I couldn’t find the time to prepare for the GMAT, even though I wanted to pursue an MBA. After so much overtime, all I wanted to do was be a couch potato — I felt completely unmotivated.

So I quit. And after two months of adjusting and studying, I took the GMAT, but the result was miserable — lower than both mock exams I had taken.

This led to a lot of reflection on my life, career, and the choices I’d been making. I was frustrated with my unusable GMAT score, but it pushed me to examine what I truly want from life.

Is business school a must? Would investing so much time, energy, and a huge loan into a degree really be worth it?

Sure, it would bring the benefits that initially made me consider an MBA. But I realized it’s definitely not the only path forward.

After a week of self-reflection, I recognized what I actually wanted in life and decided to give it another shot — and so began my journey of taking real action toward something I care about.
