Dear Eric,
Thank you for everything you’ve shared, taught, and helped me with over the past two years. We didn’t get to spend much time together, but I deeply appreciate you being there for me when I needed it most. You have been such a kind and wonderful person, and I am honored to have met you in my life. May you rest peacefully — your journey doesn’t end here, and I wish you the best in another world.
I took a family trip to Japan last week. When I came back to Taiwan, I received messages from two of my ex-colleagues right after I landed, telling me that one of our ex-colleagues had passed away.
He was just forty; in fact, he had JUST celebrated his 40th birthday.
When I first learned this, I couldn’t believe it. Eric was one of the healthiest people among us — he didn’t drink or smoke, and he went to the gym regularly. He was like a big brother to me while I was in Thailand. Even though we didn’t chat much in private, we worked on several projects together, and I knew he was someone I could rely on.
