Whether it’s short for Project Manager, Product Manager, or Program Manager, the “PM” role has one critical function: managing the team.

Almost every company needs this position because, for some reason, different departments just don’t communicate well. So, what truly makes a good PM?

Does it mean they’re easy to work with? Or is it about ensuring projects are delivered on time?

The answer depends on who you are and what role you play in the project. Just like there’s no absolute right or wrong in many situations, there’s no perfect formula for being a great PM. But if you strike the right balance, you’ll be unstoppable.

Truth is, PM is one of the most thankless jobs — both challenging and demanding!

Think about it: a software engineer earns praise when they efficiently write or debug code. A mechanical engineer gets credit when they bring a design to life within budget. An accountant shines when they accurately document financial transactions and release timely reports.
